The Erbium (Er) yag laser is a solid-state laser with a wavelength of 2940nm, specifically designed for high absorption in water. This allows for precise tissue ablation and superior control during skin resurfacing treatments.
The 2940nm wavelength allows for 10-fold more efficient energy absorption compared to CO2 lasers. It causes controlled vaporization of the skin, replacing disorganized epidermal cells with normal keratinocytes and reorganizing collagen for a smoother, firmer appearance.
